white snowflake wine box

Step 1
Untie and remove the handle that is on the top of the wooden box. Discard.
Step 2
Remove sliding panel of the wine box and paint it and all sides of the outside of the box with Wedding Cake paint. Paint a second and third coat. Let dry in between coats.

TIP: Be careful to not load the brush with too much paint when covering the snowflake cutout and the edges. Thick paint will fill up the design and make closing the box difficult.
Step 3
Once all the paint on the sliding panel is completely dry, use a toothpick to scrape off any excess paint that may have dried and distorted the shape of the laser-cut snowflake and wine bottle shapes.
Step 4
In a well-ventilated area, spray paint the wooden wine box Chrome to cover bottom third of the box. Use slow sweeping motions from bottom to top to create ombre effect. Once each side is dry, repeat for a second coat.

TIP: It is best to do this step outside and over a scrap piece of cardboard.
Step 5
In a well-ventilated area, spray Diamond Dust to add a sparkling layer over the Chrome spray paint. Repeat the slow sweeping motions used in Step 4 to paint the wooden wine box. Once each side is dry, repeat for a second coat.
Step 6
To light the inside of the box, use clear household tape to adhere the battery pack of the decorative string lights on an inner side of the box.

TIP: Cover the black battery pack with white computer paper to prevent seeing it from the outside. This can be adhered with clear household tape.
Step 7
Begin to string the lights from one side of the box to the other by using clear household tape to secure them to the inner walls. Tape the light string up and down the box to evenly distribute the light.

TIP: Attach the string lights to the inside of the box while the lights are lit to make sure the light is evenly distributed.
Step 8
To create the sheer snowflake panel on the wine box panel, cut 12” of the sheer snowflake Christmas ribbon. Make sure this length of ribbon covers both the snowflake and wine bottle cutouts on from the box insert.
Step 9
Using a hot glue gun, adhere the sheer snowflake ribbon sparkle side down to the unpainted back of the sliding panel covering the laser cut outs.
Step 10
To create bow with the sheer snowflake ribbon, start with a tail about 10" long.

NOTE: Create the bow while ribbon is still attached to the spool. Do not cut ribbon from the spool until the last step.
Step 11
Make a loop with about 9” of ribbon. Pinch and twist after the first loop and make another loop the same size on the other side of the pinched area. This will be the center of the bow.
Step 12
Continue making the loops until you have a total of six loops or until the bow reaches the desired size.
Step 13
Secure the center with a chenille stem and shape loops.
Step 14
Cut the ribbon from the spool, leaving another 10" tail.

TIP: Cut the ends of the ribbon at an angle to avoid fraying.
Step 15
In order to attach the bow to the wine box, leave the ends of the chenille stem untrimmed. Thread the ends of the chenille stem into each of the holes on the top of the wine box. To secure the bow, twist the ends of the chenille stem together on the underside of the top of the box.
Step 16
Insert the stem of the silver hanging berries into one of the holes on the top of the wine box. Let the berries cascade over one side of the box.
Step 17
Bend the long stem of the silver hanging berries to fit into the inside of the box.
Step 18
Arrange the tails of the bows where desired and adhere them in place using adhesive dots.
