Sturdy little book box
Great to use as a memory box for young and old. I gave my box a paint wash and then created design on it.

Great basis for carving project
I use these boxes for wood carving. I apply a coat of clear sealer on the entire box, then remove the cover to carve a pattern on it. On ocassion I'll reseal the box and then apply paint or stain to the carved image. I use them as gift boxes.

Variable wood quality
I bought this to make a “realistic” wooden book using my wood burner. The wood is lightweight, but can be burned with patterns without problem. I bought this item in-store, and I’m glad I did! Not all boxes are made equally. The magnetic closure is fairly weak on some of the boxes, as well as the hinges. Some of the “covers” of the boxes were also bowed in the store, so I would definitely recommend checking them out personally!

Cheap Quality, Flimsy
I saw one on the shelf the other day. It was perfect for the project I wanted to do but the cover was warped and the hinges and latch were really cheap, ex. the screws were screwed innat different angles and the latch was loose.
Still a great idea though!

Ok quality
The quality of the product over all is good. The magnet however isnt strong and releases if the box is flipped. Not uniform in color either. Ok if you dont plan on putting anything heavy in the box or if you cover the wood with anything but stain. I bought mine to house tarot cards.

These are great little boxes
I uses these all the time with my small business. so far i have nothing but great things to say about these. I make custom witch boxes & have done everything from light carving, laser etching to wood burning with excelent results. They take all my finishing mediums like pains & stains really well & produce an excelent finished product
I would absolutely recommend these for your DIY projects

My customers LOVE these book boxes
I paint the top of these for my customers and they LOVE them! You have to seal the wood first or the wood sucks up most of your paint, but once these are sealed, the sky is the limit! I've been trying to get some painted up for display in my Etsy listings, but they don't last very long. As long as you check them out before buying for any defects, these make wonderful gifts with MANY ways to make them beautiful!

I bought this and was going to wood burn a design on it, stain it and seal it. The hinges broke from very LIGHT handling before I even finished drawing the design on.

Nice wooden box

Nice product but not perfect
It is a very nice wooden box that could be used for tons of projects. When I was at the store there were 3 on the shelf and I inspected each one to see which had the best quality. Two of them had pretty warped covers and only one of them had one that was worth buying but still was slightly warped. Is recommend checking the lid and the magnet to make sure they function properly. Also a couple screws were a bit loose so I just snugged them up. Overall a decent product for the price but not made to prefect tolerances.

We thought it would be great for our project
It warped badly when I gave it just one coat of paint. The lid wouldn't even close. The magnets were way too small to help keep it closed. Threw it out, a waste of money.

Cute boxes
I bought a few of these in the store and had to pick through them since many were cracked or warped. I needed several more and there was a great online-only deal so I decided to order them online. I was nervous about doing so and was prepared to have to take them back to the store to swap out with intact examples, but all 8 arrived in great shape and I did not have to return any of them. (Side note, I am using these as "memory boxes" for trips. I'm stenciling the destination and year on the "spine" and lining them up on a bookcase as if they were books. Inside I'm storing photos and small trip momentos like shells.)

I love these, but they needed some extra sanding
I buy these on a regular basis and this time there were only 2 in good condition and those needed some extra sanding and a bit of glue for a splintered area. Otherwise in great condition and looked fine after painting.
