You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.

woven tulle wedding chair back

Add a sophisticated detail to your wedding – or any fancy event – by weaving a few lengths of tulle around your chairs. Read on and we’ll show you how easy it is to get all wrapped up in this simple upgrade!
Step 1
Project Note: As you wrap your chair with tulle, you may find it helps to use our image as a guide.

From each roll of tulle, cut three six-yard pieces of tulle. Unravel the excess two yards left on each spool and set them aside. You’ll be using them in Step 4.

TIP: Before you cut the tulle, double-check to make sure the end of each length touches the floor once it’s wrapped around the chair. If it doesn’t, adjust your measurement and use that to cut the tulle instead.
Step 2
Gather six of the six-yard pieces of tulle into a bundle, and make sure their ends are lined up evenly.
Step 3
Fold the tulle bundle in half and find its midpoint. Wrap the tulle so that its midpoint is around the top of the chair back at its left corner. Pull it taut, down and across the chair diagonally, to the bottom right corner of the chair back, right where it meets the seat. Wrap the three top tulle pieces around the corner, from the inside to the outside, so their ends fall to the ground from the seat side of the chair. Allow the ends of the bottom three tulle pieces to fall from the back side of the chair. Hold the tulle in place as you do this.
Step 4
Wrap one of the excess two-yard pieces of tulle around the tulle and the corner of the chair back to secure the six-yard pieces of tulle in place. Tie the tulle wrap into a double knot, then tuck the knot inside the wrap. Allow the rest of the tulle to flow to the ground. If you need to, trim the tulle lengths so they’re not dragging on the ground.
Step 5
Gather the remaining six-yard pieces of tulle into a bundle and, again, check to make sure all the ends are lined up evenly.
Step 6
Fold the tulle bundle in half to find its midpoint. Just as you did in Step 3, wrap the tulle’s midpoint around the top of the chair back, but this time place it around the right corner.
Step 7
Take the top tulle ends (the ones that come around the corner and over the top of the chair back) and weave them through the tulle pieces running across the chair back (the ones you tied in Steps 3-4). Run these tulle pieces underneath the top three pieces of tulle across the back, and over the bottom three pieces of tulle. Take the side tulle ends (the ones that come around the corner and down the side of the chair back). Weave them over the top three pieces of tulle across the back, and underneath the bottom three pieces of tulle.
Step 8
Pull the tulle pieces taut, down through the weaves and across the chair diagonally, to the bottom left corner of the chair back, where it meets the seat. Wrap the three top tulle pieces around the corner, from the inside to the outside, so their ends fall to the ground from the seat side of the chair. Allow the ends of the bottom three tulle pieces to fall from the back side of the chair. Hold the tulle in place, just like you did for the other side.
Step 9
Wrap another of the excess two-yard pieces around the tulle and the corner of the chair back to secure the six-yard pieces of tulle in place. Tie the tulle wrap into a double knot, then tuck the knot inside the wrap. Allow the rest of the tulle to flow to the ground. Trim the lengths, if needed.
Step 10
Take a moment to spread out and arrange the tulle that you’ve wrapped around the top corners of the chair.
