It Works! How to Open the Barrel to Add water.
My 7 year old granddaughter just figured out how to open the paintbrush. I was ready to return it based on some of the comments here. I missed this entirely on the package. Look carefully. There is a marking on the side of the barrel just below where it screws into the brush. The marking says "PUSH". Feel for the word if you cannot see it, as I did not.. Simply push at that point as you unscrew the barrel from the brush. Voila!

Unopenable
I just bought the V2 three-pack of Niji waterbrushes and all three of them are absolutely unopenable. I have had several Niji waterbrushes in the past (not from Michaels), and they are designed in two halves that unscrew at a central seam for water-loading. The ones I just bought have been poorly manufactured, or poorly handled, and the screwed-together components are so tightly mated I have destroyed two of the three trying to unscrew them. They should just open with finger pressure. Keeping the last (which I can't open either) to take with me to return, to demonstrate the defect. But what a hassle!

cant use all water in it
It is designed in so way that you can squirt and use only half of the water inside it, the rest will not come out no matter how hard you push so you will need to refill it to the top again to use only half of it.

Won’t open
Cannot unscrew to fill with water. Might be a great product if I could get water to the inside.

Do not buy! Disappointing.
so I placed an order for curbside pick up April 15, stored them and opened them today to go along with the AL 28 pan Watercolor Palette and after the first use of the wide brush the brush hair had already dislodged from the foam part and now it just wiggles around in the top part of the pen and water just drips out.

Super convenient and mess free
This is my first time using water brushes, and I am in love, for the most part. The only thing I don’t like about this product is that the large flat brush lets the water flow too freely. I didn’t have to apply any pressure on the reservoir to have a puddle of water on the page. However, the small and medium brushes are awesome! I was able to make very precise lines with more control than using traditional methods for watercolor.

Good Quality for the Price
I did a swatch test with the large flat brush.
Pros:
Easy to unscrew and fill brush, doesn't need much water and the water lasts a good amount.
Doesn't take much effort to push down to release water, but enough that you probably won't accidentally release any when you don't want to.
Cap clicks onto the end of the brush so no need to worry about losing caps.
Overall, a pretty good travel set.
Cons:
During my one-page swatch test, several of the bristles came off, a few into my painting. I removed them, but because of this, I'm not sure how long the brushes will last.
Overall, pretty good considering the price and a good travel & learning set. Just be prepared for some loose bristles.
