Aluminum Crochet Hook Set in Carry Case by Loops & Threads® is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good start, few defects, worthless case Good set for beginners, offering a variety of sizes. I noticed that one of my hooks were defective, the hook was bent, so booking yarn was awkward. Another hook had a rough chip on the top making it almost impossible to hook yarn without snagging or breaking the yarn. I ended up purchasing a new set from Amazon, with large handles for arthritic hands. If you’re planning on crocheting long term, get something more ergonomic. I threw the case away almost immediately when I received it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Multiple uses I was a bit confounded by the case before I opened it but it turns out it's quite versatile. I didn't rethread anything, the Velcro is strong enough that it keeps the case closed either way you close it. With the hooks on the outside of the case I turn it upside down, put my yarn in between the sides of the case and pull the black chord tight and place it on my work table (Velcro should be flat against the table). It holds the yarn securely and has my hooks right there on display. It works both as a stand and a yarn holder. It's stiff enough that it stands with no problems what so ever. When I'm done working I close the case the right way, run the black chord straight down and under the case so that it forms a full circle to where the hole in the back is. I then put my project yarn perpendicular to the case, tighten the fastener so the yarn is held securely on the back of the case and voila. It's all tidy and ready for me next time. Instructions would have been nice, but we are artists are we not? Use some imagination. I'm sure you can find all manner of different ways to use what you've got ;)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strange case, hooks okay Thank goodness for the reviewers, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to figure out how the case is supposed to work. I even asked my industrial designer husband, and he didn't get it, either. Apparently the people manufacturing it packaged it inside out, with the closure cord mis-threaded, and a pattern for a different craft inside. It's a nice set for traveling, but could be better. There are a couple of tiny clear pockets inside the case, but aside from maybe a folding pair of scissors and an index card for pattern instructions, there isn't room for much. Hooks appear serviceable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I figured out the case! Take the hardware off the string. Turn the case inside out, gently, pressing it in the opposite direction from which it was packed, ignore the string for now. Once the case is right side out and closes nicely with the velcro, hold it facing you. Open the case. Take the end of the string and thread it from the inside to the outside, so that the thread is now coming out the front of the case (through the front grommet it is attached to). Tie a figure 8 knot at the end of that string. Now double the string by folding it in half and thread that string at the fold through the grommet of the BACK of the case, from the inside. Thread the doubled string ALL the way, the knot at the end of the string is on the inside of the case and is keeping the string from slipping through that back grommet. Now you have a long loop outside the case, coming out of the grommet of the back of the case. Thread the hardware on to that and push it all the way up to the case to keep it closed and be able to hang the case. Loosen the hardware to open the case up. It actually works very well but instructions would have been nice. If it's hard to understand what I mean, e-mail me and I will send pics.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What is up with this case? I got this for Christmas and can’t understand this case. The hooks are fine but the case is poorly made with stitches coming apart on the side seam and not to mention don’t understand how to use it! There are no directions at all. Very disappointed and am going to return it! I wish I could post picturs of this hot mess.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from About that case....... I picked this up because I forgot my hooks, on vacation, and the coupon made me feel less horrible for buying a set. Agreeing with all the rest of the case comments, but here is how I resolved my issues with it. Untie the knot. Remove the locking slide from the cord. Pull the cord out of the inner grommet, and loop it over the top, and feed it back through the same grommet, from the front. (I tied it in a half hitch knot, to give it extra security. ) Pull the cord through the rear grommet, from inside to out. Replace the locking slide onto the cord. Snug the locking slide up to the rear grommet. At this point you can either shorten the cord, and tie a knot at the end, or just leave it long, and tie a knot. I left mine long, so that I can wrap the excess cord around the top of the case, twice, and slip the knot under, to secure it. Because that is pretty inefficient hook and loop tape, that is securing the flap. All in all, less than 2 minutes to re-engineer the case.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Case help The hooks are useful and are very strong but the case was confusing and very stiff. We figured the cord was used as a handle, which means the case is like a purse, but not very stylish. All you have to do is take the like it’s a handle and attempt to close the case. I’m sitting on the case right now so I can get the shape back to normal but overall, not bad.
