Bought 2 -one was bone dry, the other was 99% dry
Normally it takes a bit of shaking and pressing to get the tips to soak up the ink. In this case one didn't transfer any ink at all and the other one only transferred enough to draw a scratchy line. I've bought chalkboard markers in the past and been very happy with them. In this case they are clearly old and/or from a bad batch. I've tried on 3 separate times to get them to work without luck.
If I lived closer to a store I would have returned these.

great chalk marker
I bought this so I could fill out a baby update chalkboard, and it works really well. It took a minute to start/activate, but after that it worked well. It makes writing on a chalkboard easier and cleaner (no chalky fingers). I also don't have to worry about it breaking. It also wipes clean just as easily as chalk. I plan to buy this again.

Way better than regular chalk
If you are making chalkboard signs for a wedding or a shower, I highly recommend this product. It goes on so smooth and dark, you would swear it was a paint pen. Loved it!

Frustrating to use
I’m finding this chalk pen hard to use. I shake it and let it sit upside down for a while before I use it. When I write with it vertically, it dries up fast. I found that when I place my board on the table, it works so much better. Gravity is your friend with this pen.
