Caron® Big Cakes™ Yarn is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 633.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed Too many joining knots in the skein and therefore the color matching is way off

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to work with and beautiful color! Some of bad reviews posted here are clearly from people who have not learned about all yarn types and what projects they are best used for, also dying processes and what to expect....it’s important to learn this information before making assumptions. This yarn is wonderful to work with, it’s smooth, soft, washes well, and the colors are awesome. I use these to make throws by knitting or crocheting, it only takes 3 big cakes! Love this product, please keep more in stock!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Out of stock! Usually buy more than enough when making something. Thought 6 would be enough but will not to finish blanket for my son. Now apparently discontinued. Ordered twice and did not say out of stock then got email canceling my order! Am so upset over this. Help Michaels!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Yarn for Scarf Found this yarn and thought the colors were interesting. Worked the scarf in corner to corner with 10 blocks across. It works up into a generous scarf. Over 6 feet long. No issues. 5 colors make the scarf visually pleasing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Cakes I love this yarn. I have made a few hats for myself. It is worth it to get a few items.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color bleed throughout I bought three of the Afternoon Tea to make a blanket but discovered that 16 yards of the first color, Ivory, was covered in gray splotches. I got two rows of the blanket done and discovered the rest was unusable. I'm not taking about a little bleeding that can be cut out. The gray was throughout all of the other colors for all three skeins. It was really disappointing as I wanted those colors for that baby blanket. I ended up having to buy the colors separately. I really love Caron yarn. I was so disappointed to discover how poor the quality was in those. I'm hoping other ones don't have the same issue as I'd like to try using the big cakes for future projects. I reached out to Caron about it with pictures and, of course, heard nothing back. I'm hoping it was a temporary problem and that they have fixed it. The colors really are beautiful, when not covered in splotches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from On-brand for Caron As other reviews have said, there is some dye splash-over onto other colors (e.g. grey splotches in tan sections), but otherwise, I'd say this is pretty similar to other Caron yarns. It feels the same as One Pound, so if you want yardage over color variegation, go for that; it'll be cheaper in the long run. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my result. Of course, it's a cheaper yarn in general, so it feels a bit acrylic-y, but it's still soft enough for my standards.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy with this yarn I’m not an expert crocheter by any means and primarily make charity blankets. This yarn is working up beautifully and I really like the striping result.
