Craft Smart® Polymer Clay, 1 lb. is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for bigger projects I use this clay to make little jewelry trays and it’s awesome because I can buy it in bulk and it’s cheaper. You do really have to work with it to get it ready but I think it keeps detail and shape nicely. I paint it when I’m done so color doesn’t matter to me, I like that it’s white

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ok for kids, bad for artists This clay feels very rubbery and doesn't blend well. In addition, it holds on to finger prints like there is no tomorrow yet deforms pretty easily. If you are looking for a quick craft to do with kids, thisncould be an alright option but of you are looking to sell your work, forget it. It is not worth the frustration of dealing with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible to craft with Bubbles up, leaves the surface not smooth, and hardens slightly, but never enough before it cracks. Ruined many crafts of mine. Also gets too soft and sticky (?) after a while of molding.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Good for Jewelry I bought a pound of the yellow craft smart clay because it was cheaper than Premo. It was a false economy: squishy, pasty, like something you'd caulk a tub with. Worst of all, it does not bake hard. I even tried adding Premo translucent and other colors to harden it up, to no avail. Is it OK for kids' projects? I wouldn't insult a child by giving them a product this disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from To soft I'm new to polymer clay and need something pretty durable. This stuff is mushy and sticky. I'm learning polymer canes and this stuff is terrible to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use clay after a Pintrest fail :-) First time I have ever used. I made stands for my flower fairy dolls. Easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review and Comparison To Original Sculpey White Greetings, fellow crafters. First off, I have to say that this clay far exceeded my expectations, and I wish I'd tried it sooner. I've read the negative reviews and have concluded that as long as you follow the manufacturer's directions, everything goes as it should. If you have been using Original Sculpey White (OSW), you may want to give this one a try. The clay I received (purchased online, picked up in store) was a 2018 batch and was soft straight out of the packaging. I had been using OSW and was frustrated at how the fresh batches were too soft--even after leeching--and would gum up everything, including my hands and my pasta machine. Not so with the Craft Smart. It feels more plastic-like than OSW, and while it is soft and doesn't need much kneading/conditioning, it doesn't get gummy. Its softness makes it a great clay for use with silicone molds. It doesn't distort the mold when pressing it in, and it holds small details well. Due to its softness, I wouldn't recommend it on its own for sculpting, but I have mixed in a little with my Sculpey Extra Firm to soften it up a bit without sacrificing any of its sculptability. At times, I use an inkjet transfer method onto raw clay, and it performed better than OSW there too. It bakes up nicely and is comparable in strength, flexibility, and durability to OSW. It also sands well like OSW. As for paintability, I use watered-down acrylic paint (also Craft Smart) to create a water color effect on my baked clay pieces. With OSW, I sometimes would have a problem with the paint beading up due to the high water-to-paint ratio. Here, the Craft Smart once again performed better - no beading at all. This is just one person's opinion, and you may like other brands better depending on your project(s), but I will definitely be sticking to Craft Smart for my pendants. Happy crafting!
