Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Tonal Yarn is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this yarn!!!! I don't knit/crochet, but my mom does that for me. Used this a few years ago for a great blanket for me (I'm tall). Used two colors for the inner patches and brown tonal color for the outside. It's lasted all that time, through washes, my dogs loving on it, and was soft, cuddly and warn. Beautiful colors throughout and the different blends of the color tones was perfect. Sadly, the new puppy has decided it likes to suck on it and tear at it, so it's time for a new one. Such great feel, color, and another blanket is being made in the same pattern, but different color palette. Cannot wait for it, but I'm hiding it from the puppy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft, thick, and beautiful colors I bought a bunch of this yarn to make a blanket and it's really nice to work with. (I got an excellent price too with a bunch of coupons online.) I like that the fiber content is not all acrylic, but you can still machine wash it. The wool content gives it an extra warm feel. I also really like how the tonal gradation is done. There are not separate sections of each color - instead, the entire length of the yarn has both tones running along it, so you don't need to match up ends if you're working with more than one ball. I did encounter a few places where the yarn was tied, but it does not interrupt the color because of how it's done. It's a great thick yarn (using 6.5mm hook as recommended) and it works up quick and does not split easily which is always nice. Some of the photos don't show the tonal quality as well, like the Aqua, but they are all done the same and it gives a very nice effect. I bought 3 balls each of Royal Blue, Aqua, Lime, Buttercup, and Natural and they are all true to the colors in the pictures. I was a little worried about it being soft enough but it is pleasant to touch and also sturdy enough that I think it will hold up to washing. Really pleased with this yarn and I would buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, very nice subtle multi-tonal color This product works up quickly and smoothly. As I'm finding with a lot of skeins, the yarn breaks in the middle of the skein and is tied to continue. The subtle multi-tonal color is what drew my attention to this product and it adds quite a nice dimension to what might have been another ordinary project. I actually picked it up because of the free pattern they displayed next to it. (Easy Color Block Knit Scarf, Project 80877)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super-b Bulky Yarn I used this yarn in the green colorway, in order to make a hat for one of my friends. It was thick, smooth and easy to crochet. It didn't fray or split while working with it. It was a fairly priced yarn. I've been to yarn shops to get quality yarn, and even some of their acrylics were triple the price of this one. I crocheted an adult sized hat with a separate rib stitch brim that I attached. I used a K-sized hook. The stitches were tight enough to not let light pass through, but loose enough that it doesn't squeeze the head. I used every bit of yarn in the skien, and the hat sits a little slouchy on the head, which is what my friend wanted. After washing the ends stayed in nicely, but the yarn itself developed small fuzz and fraying. I recommend washing in a washing machine, but machine dry it by itself or with small knitted garments. I dried mine with my normal laundry, which probably accounts for the fuzz. The yarn became softer after washing and is still sturdy and even stitched. Overall, this is a great yarn, and definitely one that I will return to whip up hat requests for my friends.
