Learn how to turn your acrylic paints into fabric paint and use dot painting skills to paint a tote bag!

Mix about 1:1 or 1:2 ratio of acrylic paint colors of choice with textile medium. &nbsp;I usually mix the design colors into small paint pots and then use a small plastic dish to mix the background color

Prep your paint!

Use any round object to trace a circle onto your canvas with a pencil. &nbsp;I put a piece of waxed paper inside the tote bag to protect the other side from any paint that seeps through. &nbsp;Fill in with your flat paint brush with your desired background color - I used black. &nbsp;Let it completely dry. &nbsp;I usually do this the night before I plan to paint my design.

Paint background

I use a stencil or a compass to make concentric circles for guidlines with a chalk pencil. &nbsp;Then I start my mandala design from the center out with mandala tools using the pre-mixed textile paints

Paint your design

Once the final design is done, I let it try overnight. &nbsp;Then I heat set the design by using an iron with an old t-shirt to protect the paint. &nbsp;I would recommend spot cleaning the bag as needed, but it should be pretty durable! &nbsp;Enjoy!
