InFUNity Tiles - Hat and Turtle aperiodic "einstein" monotiles, made from recycled plastic
InFUNity Tiles were inspired by the discovery of the aperiodic monotiles in 2023, These are known as einstein tiles, meaning "single stone" - because you can cover an infinite surface with this single shape, and there is no symmetry or repeating pattern. After decades of mathematicians arguing about whether the einstein could exist, David Smith discovered the Hat, and collaborated with Joseph Samuel Myers, Craig S. Kaplan, and Chaim Goodman-Strauss to prove that it was indeed an aperiodic monotile. A couple months later they unveiled the "turtle" and the "spectre," representing an entire family of additional aperiodic monotiles. The tiles are made of things like take-out containers, medicine vials, bottle caps, storage bins, lawn signs, and much more -- all material that, because of its varied shapes, would otherwise go to our local landfill. InFUNity Tiles come in two shapes: Hats and Turtles. They are sized so that you can tile a surface with either shape or both. We have a wide assortment of colors, and also offer mixed packs that include colors and transitional effects. Pick the colors you like, whether to use as an open-ended puzzle activity, or to create mosaic-like art, or to create games of your own design. Each package contains 24 tiles.
