This painting depicts the attack on Ft. Wagner by the Union Army colored infantry regiment that led the charge of the second attempt on Ft Wagner, in Jul 1863. t was a gruesome battle that led to mostly hand to hand combat. The lead element took massive cassualties including its commanding officer, but they continued to fight on and display great bravery and tenacity throughout, proving their worth on the battlefield. All paintings are original works of the artist, hand-drawn, artfully digitized, printed with state of the art equipment onto high-quality photo paper or canvas with color inks made to last.
