Amazonite Jewelry Set
Amazonite mineral rock was treasured by the ancient Egyptians who made beautiful jewelry, ornamental pieces and carved important texts into this stone. Amazonite has always been prized for its beauty and healing power. This pale blue/green mineral rock is believed to date back as far as the 10th century BC. Amazonite is also known as the "Amazon stone," because it was thought to have been discovered at the Amazon River Basin in Brazil. However, there are actually no deposits found there and instead amazonite is present in other parts of Brazil, Colorado and Virginia in the United States, Australia and Madagascar. The amazonite beads used in this jewelry set are beautiful mostly blue and less green showing in the beads. The necklace is about 20" long. Sculpted sterling silver wire surrounds the large amazonite focal bead. The pendant is about 3" long. The earrings are single drops of amazonite beads with a thin swirl of sterling silver wire across the from of the bead. The earrings are about 2" long. All attempts have been made to photograph these items correctly in the natural light. However, colors can/do vary with everyone's individual monitors.
