Elegant, secure traveling case for an artist's tools. Stays open and rigid in the hand, functioning like a painters' palette.
Burgeoning artists are always told to, "Draw from life." I designed this pencil case to help me do just that.
Most of the life worth drawing is far from my desk. I wanted something that could drop in my bag and take with me anywhere. To a landscape, a museum, or a classroom.
This self rigid design distinguishes itself from similar rolling styles by serving as an artists palette of sorts, able to be carried in the hand alone, not requiring a table to rest on to be of use.
The shaped leather pocket hold the pencils securely and protects their tips. The pockets are sculpted open and will never close up on you like a flat style pocket. This gives effortless access and storage to 6 pencils in each side of the case.
There is space above the pencils to store your preferred eraser. Kneaded erasers fit most easily but the case will also accommodate most standard plastic erasers.
The flaps at the top of the case keep everything in place during travel and tuck securely away during use so they will never be clumsily in the way.
The leather is 1/8th of an inch thick, strong enough to stand to serious daily use for many years.
The back cover is made from one continuous piece of leather. This is costly but I find it both more durable and more beautiful.
Superfluous seams are a great way for a maker to save costs on leather. It is much easier to work around t
