Brown, Blue Pasta Bowl
HOW ITS MADE This brown/ blue pasta bowl is entirely handmade. Starting with being thrown on the wheel using a stoneware clay body. Then it is carefully trimmed to remove excess clay and trim a foot. Then the bowl goes through its first kiln firing, this firing doesn’t get very hot only going up to cone 04. But this removes just enough water from the clay that it is able to be glazed and safely fired for a second time. After being dip glazed, the bowl enters the kiln for a second time, this time the kiln goes all the way up to cone 10 which is about 2100 degrees F. At this point the bowl has turned from clay to ceramic, a process that can never be undone. A LITTLE ABOUT THE GLAZE The glazes used in my shop are all carefully tested production level glazes. This means that they are safe for food and will not deteriorate in different temperatures or PH levels. FEATURES - Dishwasher safe - Microwave not advised - Food safe - Diameter: 6in - height: 2in
