Over time the wood will darken to a deep rich red-brown color. Each Cribbage board is unique due to natural variations in the color and grain of the wood. Yours will be similar to the board pictured here, but will have its own unique character. The carving around the edges of this wooden Cribbage board reflects a pattern traditionally used by the Swahili people of coastal Kenya in intricate wood carvings. We gained an appreciation for these beautiful carvings when we lived on the Kenyan coast for a while.
