Around her, her cubs lingered in a half-circle, their youthful eyes filled with curiosity and untested courage. The “Ghosts of the Grasslands,” as they are known, rarely stay in one place for long. I steadied my camera, adjusting my shutter speed. Wildlife photography is an art of patience and precision—one moment too slow, and the shot is lost forever.
