Christianity Chi Rho Pendant Bracelet Stack, Religious Jewelry, Christianity Symbol, Symbolic Pendant, Ancient Roman History, Catholic Gift

Product Description

This handmade matching bracelet stack jewelry set includes: one beaded bracelet with custom designed pendant, and two additional coordinating beaded bracelets that can be mix and matched, worn layered together or separately. I handcraft each of my pendants using laser engraved wax seal stamps that I custom designed. This lovely stack is part of our Regale Collection, inspired by royal designs and symbology throughout the centuries. The center pendant of this set is a symbol widely known throughout Christianity from its birth in the Roman empire. The Labarum, or Chi Rho, was first used by Emperor Constantine, the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity and protect Christians from persecution in Rome. He used the Chi Rho symbology in various insignia, such as on his legionary standards, coins, and battle shields. On the evening of October 27, 312 AD, with his army preparing for the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, the emperor Constantine I claimed to have had a vision which led him to believe he was fighting under the protection of the Christian God. Lactantius states that in the night before the battle Constantine was commanded in a dream to "delineate the heavenly sign on the shields of his soldiers". Obeying this command, "he marked on their shields the letter X, with a perpendicular line drawn through it and turned round thus at the top, being the cipher of Christ". Having had their shields marked in this fashion, Constantine's troops readied themselves for battle.
