This is a small (6 inches long), realistic stuffed animal axolotl. It is made of a soft flannel fabric and has red felt frills. It is well stuffed and squishy. Axolotls are a rare species of salamander that never become "adults"; Most salamanders start as tadpoles with gills and no legs. They then grow legs, and then lose their gills, but that never happens to axolotls! They only live wild in the lake under Mexico City, and due to pollution and habitat loss, less than a thousand are left in the wild. I hope you enjoy the fabric copy of this unique salamander!
