This DIY kit incorporates embroidery and beadwork to create a stunning representation of a prickly pear cactus with thirty DMC colors and eight bead types. The design uses battlement couching (a layered, trellis-like stitch), chain stitch, satin stitch, and split stitch to create unique texture and layering. Beadwork accents highlight different parts of the flowers, fruit, and pads of the prickly pear. This is an advanced kit and is 9" in diameter. Even though this is an advanced kit, the instructions assume someone is a complete beginner and include step by step tutorials and links to videos on how to do the stitches for this pattern: battlement couching, chain, split, and satin stitch. Packaging is in a custom fully-printed box, and the only plastic is the small bags holding the beads.
