Dumortierite is a bright blue, dark blue or greenish-blue mineral that is occasionally found in metamorphic rocks. It can be polished to a high luster and is one of just a few blue minerals that are hard enough to be used as a gemstone. These beautiful dark blue dumortierite beads are a fantastic background to the sterling silver filled wires that cross all around the beads. The earrings are single drops of the dumortierite beads dangling from French hook ear wires. All attempts have been made to photograph these items correctly in the natural light.
