2004 Delaware 25th anniversary artist proof edition duck stamp print which shows a pair of American Scoters flying in front of the historic Cape Henlopen Lighthouse. It was also the first of the five duck stamp series showing a Delaware lighthouse. The print has a watercolor remarque of a male and female duck and comes with a signed stamp. The artistic challenge of getting 2 small brown and black ducks and a large white lighthouse into a balanced composition that showed the beautiful details of each intrigued me to the point I just had to try it. I chose to do a watercolor as it would give me a blend of flowing colors and sharp details. After much working on my composition and learning about the birds and the lighthouse, the painting came together, and I entered the national contest. I was delighted to find out that I won! The set includes a signed and numbered artist proof duck stamp print with a watercolor remarque, a signed by the artist $9 Delaware Migratory Waterfowl Stamp, and a proof of authenticity paper that gives details on the limited edition, the ducks and the artist. The print is not matted or framed so you can choose the style and colors you want to match your room décor. The artist proof edition was limited to 200 prints and is a more valuable collector’s item than the larger regular limited edition.
