Here kitty, kitty! Here is a little kitty I made and ended up naming him Grumpy Kitty, kinda looks grumpy. Made out of high quality wool and big green eyes. Sits at about 5" tall, 3" wide, 3" deep. I have been needle felting for about 10 years now and I am amazed how much I love this medium of art. I also am pleased with my progress that I have made along the way. And the best part is I am not done learning. I am constantly learning new techniques and trying them out on my newer items. Each item takes time and patience. I can spend anywhere from 2 hours (these are the beginners/simple items) up to 50 hours (larger more complicated pieces). Needle Felted Sculptures are not intended as toys but are a work of art for displaying or collecting. Needle Felting is a fairly new art form and is generally made from 100% wool with other objects such as wire armatures and glass or plastic eyes. And possible polymer clay noses. Caring for your new art form, as far as handling the more you handle the more your body oils will be absorbed into and change your piece of art. If your art form becomes dusty, blowing on it or using canned air gently will take care of the dust issue. Regarding the wire armature. Wire armature generally makes your art form able to pose but posing over and over time you risk breaking the wire armature. So be gentle and take care and enjoy!
