Hand Spun Undyed Long Wool 2-ply Yarn

Product Description

This skein of yarn was hand-spun using wool produced by one of our local growers; it is a long-stapled, coarser wool (Icelandic, I think). The fleece had natural variance in the colors - I separated the darker shades from the lighter shades and spun them individually - so that when plied together they created a candy-stripe/barber pole effect in the yarn. This is a completely natural and undyed 2-ply yarn with 14-15 WPI (fingering weight) and is 289 yards. The wool was grown by sheep residing in Northeastern Nevada and scoured/carded/spun there as well. Because life has moved me in a new direction, this yarn will ship from Florida. ***all yarns are hand-spun NOT machine-spun so you will find some irregularities in thicknesses and plies **** Though we do our utmost to remove all foreign matter, please bear in mind that all these yarns are created with natural fibers, you *may* find some VM (such as hay, etc.)***
