Each earring was made with an origami paper folded kimono from a chiyogami Japanese paper, hanging from fishhook ear-wires. Length of the earrings from the top of the ear-wire to the bottom of the kimono is about 2", the width of the kimono is 1". The origami kimonos were sealed with several coats of sealer and non-yellowing satin varnish to add durability and protect them from moisture. But they are not waterproof, so do not submerge the earrings in water, or wear them to go swimming or taking showers.
