This unique patriotic door hanger/wall art is a primitive version of the 1776 American flag banner. The banner is made from muslin and batting that is machine quilted to form the row of stripes. The stripes and stars are hand painted then aged with a coffee/cinnamon solution. A wooden dowel is used to support the grapevine wire hanger. An aged ribbon with July 4th, 1776 is secured to the banner with rusty safety pins and bells. Rusty safety pins with bells attached are also used to gather the bottom of the flag. Pip berries and moss are attached to the flag. The tea-dyed cheesecloth is draped around the hanging wire. The banner is ready for hanging! This vintage flag display is approximately 21" X 8" - not including the hanging wire. This is a wonderful year round primitive Americana display for any home!
