Handmade Pottery: Vinegar and Olive oil Bottle. Pouring cruet, ewer, or decanter for salad dressings.
The gorgeous red and blue-gray glaze on this stylish handmade olive oil bottle or cruet will add a touch of elegant charm to your table. This pouring vessel or decanter comes with a stopper/cap that inserts into the opening to allow just the right amount of oil, vinegar, salad dressing, lemon or lime juice, or other liquid to pour out. It's a great piece of pottery for storing and dispensing oil. The stopper as well as the ceramic composition of this decanter or ewer protects the contents from exposure to air and light. I made this on my pottery wheel out of porcelain clay, adding a small handle at the shoulder for ease of lifting and pouring. I layered several food-safe glazes for the rich design featuring shades of a deep red and a slate blue-gray color. This vase is 5" high x 3" across and can also be used as a vase.
