Handmade Forged and Twisted Marlin Spike, Awl, Pick, or Scribe
This is a hand forged awl / pick / scribe / spike - I was inspired by pictures of antique Japanese needles, that could be used (among other things) to stitch samurai leather armor. The sharp and pointy tip is hardened and tempered, so pick, open packages, scribe wood or soft metal, and scratch away at things! Spike comes with a hand-stitched leather sleeve, with a belt carry loop and hand-hammered copper rivets. This is another one of my one-of-a-kind items - you're getting the exact tool and sheath shown in pictures. It's hand forged, twisted, hand-ground to final shape, heat treated, and hand-finished. The eye is hot-punched, and can be used to attach a lanyard. Material - New (not recycled) US-made, medium carbon tool steel (5160) Approximate dimensions: Length - 7" (7.5 with the sheath) Width - 0.4" at the widest part, tapering to point Thickness - 0.25" tapering to point Sheath dimensions - 6.5" x 1.5" Made in USA
