Glass Insulator Cranberry Red Stained Decorative Glass. We create each of these beautiful stained glass insulators in our 150-year-old converted Tobacco Barn shop. I call it the bro barn. A minimum of three coats are applied to each insulator, and then we clear-coat them, sealing the stain and providing an added layer of protection. It is a slow, painstaking process, but the result is quite beautiful. These are authentic approximately 100-year-old clear glass insulators that we have enhanced with glass stain applied as a spray aerosol. We search for insulators in perfect condition, but because they are approximately 100 years old, they will sometimes have a small imperfection or 2. These items sat up high on a pole and were subjected to rain, heat, wind electricity, birds, and other elements for many decades. Your insulator might have a small scratch or a tiny ding but it will definitely not have any easily discernable chips, cracks, or sharp edges and the staining process hides almost all imperfections.
