It is not a high shine, clean factory gloss kind of look. If you are looking for shiny steel pulls this finish is not for you. some forge scale will be present. After wire brushing, I add a coat of blended linseed oil and beeswax which provides a natural barrier to help prevent corrosion and bring out the natural beauty of the hand worked metal. (Not recommended for outdoor use.) OIL BLACKENED FINISH: This satin black finish has touches of grey, and allows the texture and forge work in the steel to come through. Our process penetrates into the metal and provides a durable finish. Salt spray tested.
