Japanese Bowls; Sparkly Gold and Black Lidded Tea Bowls. Chawan Tea cup with lid and no handles. Salsa Bowl, Mise en place
This sparkly gold and black lidded Japanese tea bowl is great for many uses. Also called a yunomi or a sipper cup or chawan that you can wrap your hands around, use it for: - a traditional cup of tea, using the lid to filter out the tea leaves - salsa or sauce bowl - egg drop soup or miso - dips and toppings - food preparation - to hold paper clips, thumbtacks, and office items - for keys and loose change - for guest soaps, cotton balls, or floss - nuts and candies - a scoop of ice cream or yogurt - endless uses! I made these traditional tea cups on my pottery wheel out of porcelain clay. Then I layered the glazes and was surprised that the top layer of glaze turned into this sparkly gold color. It reminds me of the galaxy or Milky Way. Each bowl is around 3" high x 5" wide and holds 12 ounces. This listing is for ONE bowl with lid, but as you can see, I made several of them recently.
