This is a large 16" long decorative dish that was hand built and altered to this oval platter shape with handles and an elegant foot to give the piece some lift, and some texture along the rim. I layered glazes to achieve the black gloss background with an organic line of blues and greens through the center. This dish measures 2.5 high x 9.5" across and 16" long. It's pretty as a stand alone piece of art but also looks nice filled with decorations -- seasonal ornaments, gourds, pine cones, fruit, etc. It's also large enough to serve appetizers, desserts, even entrees on. I also incised some small holes in the foot so that you can hang it on the wall if you choose. Simply thread a hanging wire through the holes. I signed it on the bottom.
