We slice the logs and allow them to dry for up to 1 year. We then sand them to a smooth finish. When we get your order, we then take the blank covers and carve them on our CNC machine for a nice accurate fit. Once the cover has been machined; we then sand it again to prepare it for a finish. We take the extra time to pocket the back of all our covers to ensure a nice fit to the wall. Buyer is responsible to verify building codes in their area to verify wooden covers are permissible.
