This is a fine art print of my pastel painting, Looking Back: Owl's Head. Owl's Head is a small town in midcoast Maine, just south of Rockland, and it boasts a popular lighthouse with a wide view of the horizon. In 2021 my family vacationed nearby, and my partner and I walked from the rental house to the lighthouse in about an hour. After all the hard work in the hot sun, we reached the lighthouse and I turned around and saw the path we'd taken and the vast ocean just past it. My "Looking Back" pieces are about turning away from the prescribed subject of beauty (in this case, the lighthouse) and instead finding it on one's own, in more places.
I produce my prints right in my home studio in Belmont, NH using a 6-color inkjet printer on matte fine art photography paper. Each is signed by hand on the back and sealed in a clear plastic sleeve with a rigid backing board for the best protection. I can produce prints to order if my supply of materials allows, so if you require a large quantity of prints (perhaps as wedding favors, holiday gifts for extended family, etc.) feel free to contact me.
