Star quilts have long been a prominent symbol throughout Indian Country. Representing the Morning Star and embodying the teachings of various tribes and families. They serve as a testament to the vibrant history of the Plains Indians and their deep rooted connection to the land and its people. It is believed that the Great Spirit gave power to the Morning Star to watch over mortals on earth and impart them to spiritual blessings. The 8 eight points of the star represent four stages of life( infancy,youth, maturity and old age and the four cardinal directions North, South, East, and West. Size is 59" wide 64" long, both machine and hand stitching. Cleaning : Treat a quilt like a delicate piece of clothing. Wash on gentle cycle cold water with a mild detergent. Air drying is best. Can put in dryer on low or no heat.
