The Petoskey stone. The only place in the world where it can only be found is on the shores of Lake Michigan. A favorite pastime at cottages along the shore is playing cards. Especially when the foul weather moves in and you can hear the lighthouses provide guidance. Bring back all those memories by hanging this on a wall or placing it on a bookshelf. These specific stones along with the others in this series were found on the beach where my grandparents retired... it's a secret place full of memories from every season. The box is 6" x 8" and 1.875" deep, and finished in faux-stained wood, with a faint grain. The stones were found by myself and coated with a water-based finished to retain the grain found in these rare stones. I made these shadow boxes during the COVID lockdown.
