Hamsa (khamsa), also called Hand of Fatima and also the Hand of Miriam, is an amulet prevalent throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa to ward off the Evil Eye. It's worn in jewelry, and used in the home as a wall hanging and in decorative motifs. This pewter Hamsa is 7/8" (20mm) long with a cut-out center. Top bead is pewter. Middle bead is a traditional cobalt blue and white Nazar Boncugu, the Turkish name for the Evil Eye bead which brings good luck and protects against jealousy and the Evil Eye. A Hamsa with an Evil Eye center bead is double protection. 2-3/8" (60mm) long from the top of nickel-free ear wires. Clip-ons and screw backs are available for non-pierced ears.
