This decorative and completely functional ceramic lidded garlic keeper features decorative incised holes in the shapes of leaves and dots that allow air in to keep your garlic fresh. (Or shallots, or other things you want to stash away.) It is a neat and tidy way to store garlic cloves. And keeps them fresher, longer since they are enclosed in a ventilated, dark space. I hand made it on my pottery wheel out of durable porcelain clay, altering the shape to oval it slightly and incising air holes throughout the jar while the clay was soft. I added the leaf and berry design in the clay, used pottery stains and glazes for the color, and sealed it all in with a translucent glaze. This pottery jar is 6" high x 4.5 x 3.5" across. It will hold 2 medium garlic bulbs. I signed it on the bottom rim. This is for the exact jar in the first 3 photos, but I have more of these jars for garlic, honey, sugar and more in my shop Works well as a candleholder, too.
