Pottery Butter Dish with Lid. Blue and White Covered Butter Dish Ceramics and Pottery
From the refrigerator to the table, this lidded butter dish featuring a new design I just started working on will have you serving butter in style. I created this butterdish from porcelain clay that is partly wheel thrown and partly hand built. I took a tutorial from Martha Grover to learn the technique. The butter dish with the lid on measures 7" high x 7" long x 5.5" across. The tray is about 1" high and the oval center where the butter goes measures 3.75" x 5". It is glazed in a pretty shade of blue (at my studio, they label it "Smile Blue") and white. It has lots of interesting details on the handle and throughout. This dish can be cleaned in the dishwasher safely, and can be placed in the microwave if you want to soften the butter a little before spreading. This listing is for the exact butter tray and lid shown above. Since this dish is the prototype of butter dishes I have made since, it is discounted in price. Other butter dishes like those in the last photos can be found in my shop. Please check my other listings. If you'd like a gift card enclosed with this item, leave me the wording in the notes to seller and I'll be sure to include it for you.
