A damaged vintage Royal Winton Summertime Chintz Bon Bon was used to make this charming pair of Bookends. The Reticulated Hearts top center were the handles of the dish. In the true manner of Pique Assiette, all the pieces were hand-nipped and fitted. The grouting is a pale pink and there is 18K gold leaf applied to the border of the hearts and the edges of the bookends. The base is Walnut with metal stands which have two felt furniture protectors on their bottom. One of the ends is signed on the back with my gold cherries hallmark. Each bookend measures 5" h x 3" w x .5" and the stands give you 4" - 8" space for books. This one-of-a-kind set would make a special and unique gift.
