This is a one of a kind, meticulously handcrafted sage smudging kit. The kit base consists of two sections. The first is the base which has a sunken 8 1/2" square space which is then surrounded by inlaid decorative tile. This area can be filled with himalayan sea salt crystals, which creates a bed for the abalone shell into which the sage is traditionally smudged. Toward the back of the base is a platform to store the sage, palo santo, wafting feathers as well as a small lighter. The platform attaches to the base via four magnets. Lastly, the platform also stores the bumpers that are utilized when the piece is in its' wall hanging mode. The bottom of the base serves as a wall hanging. The wall hanging is a zen inspired, beautiful Eastern mandala design. To utilize the wall hanging, simply remove the platform, screw in the bumpers into the two nut inserts in the base tray, then hang. The kit includes hardware to hang from sheetrock or a wood stud. Instructions for hanging are included. The kit comes with two small sage bundles, palo santo sticks, a lighter, peacock and turkey feathers (which are traditionally used in ritual), an abalone shell, and two pounds of sea salt. This kit is heavy! It weighs nearly thirty pounds. The base is 14 1/2" square, and 2 3/4" tall. The platform is 11" wide, 5" deep, and 3" tall. Together, the entire piece is 4 3/4" tall.
