SEAGLASS FLOWER ART 31, Floral, Sicilian Sea Pottery, Navy Frame, Peridot Crystals, Cobalt Blue Gold Seaglass, Seaglass Seagirl

Product Description

What a beautiful elegant piece of seaglass art. All colors are original and have not been retouched. Starting with the vase as the focal point in a lovely piece of Sicilian terra cotta sea pottery with an unusual print of gold, tan, blue, grey against an eggshell background, it sits on top of a smooth piece of beachcombed slate from Maine. The flowers were created with gold, amber, cobalt blues and yellow seaglass from Greece and Spain. The leaves are gorgeous shades of greens. I added the beautiful moss green ferns made of peridot crystals from the Canary Islands. Peridot – sometimes called chrysolite, its green color is dependent on the iron contents within the structure of the gem. Peridot occurs in silica-deficient rocks such as volcanic basalt and pallasitic meteorites. Peridot is one of only two gems observed to be formed not in the Earth’s crust, but in molten rock of the upper mantle. Gem-quality peridot is rare to find on Earth's surface due to its susceptibility to weathering during transportation from deep within the mantle to the surface. Peridot is the birthstone for the month of August. These crystals are from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. The sleek navy flat frame surrounds a background of white and peach tones that complement the design perfectly. All pieces have been affixed to the top of the frame glass to give it depth. The frame measures 10 x 12" and has a sawtooth hanger on the back.
