Set of 5 Japanese Tawashi Pot Scrubbers, Eco Friendly

Product Description

This listing is for five tawashi. Tawashis in Japan come in many forms. They are crocheted in beautiful patterns from special abrasive acrylic yarn with deodorizing and anti-bacterial properties. Mine are made into roses. They are eco friendly because they can be used without soap or detergent to scrub glasses, dishes, casseroles and pots. They are safe for non-stick pans. When they are dirty they can simply be well rinsed or washed in soap and water. I gave the first tawashi I crocheted to my husband and he is still raving about it. Our casseroles look like new, our glasses shine. It is indeed a magical kitchen tool. Almost all of the tawashis available in the United States are made from cotton or ordinary arcylic yarn because the traditional Japanese yarn is not sold here. But my tawashis are crocheted with 'Namibuto" yarn I purchased from Japan. Hence my tawashis are more expensive than those made from American yarns but they are definitely worth the price. Note: Colors will vary from those in the photo depending of yarn available from my Japanese source. The eco-tawashis are beautiful to look at, strong and a wonderful, effective and ecologically sound cleaning tool. DO NOT USE THESE SCRUBBERS ON SKIN, the yarn is abrasive. The tawashi are made to order so please allow me a week or two to make them for you.
