LEADED STAINED GLASS CROSS PANEL Constructed with classical leaded glass technique and materials the sturdy panel will bring joy for generations. We begin with a Cross constructed of 1 1/2 inch wide beveled glass rails, that refract the suns light and bring this symbolic shape to life. The background patter of diamonds, are filed with a beautiful mix of hand blown cathedral glass of various finishes in soft yellow, amble, pink, green and blue tones. Glass has been carefully cut and seated within lead came bracing that is then soldered into place, the same method used for centuries in churches and cathedrals round the world. Cement is applied, filling in the gaps between the glass and lead and allowed to cure forming a rigid panel designed to stand the test of time. After a lengthy cleaning process the sturdy zinc frame and all solder elements are treated with a dark patina giving that aged look. Carnauba wax is applied and the entire panel buffed to a high polished shine. All SCW Glassworks pieces are studio quality, cathedral glass that will never fade in color.
