The exterior of the can is hand decoupaged with a designer paper napkin featuring wispy sunflowers and black-eyed susans, and hand painted with our unique color mixture "country-yellow" to compliment the decoupage designs. WHAT IS DÉCOUPAGE? Decoupage is the art or technique of decorating surfaces by applying shapes or illustrations cut from various forms of paper. OUR DECOUPAGE TECHNIQUE is accomplished by carefully placing a delicately thin separated ply of a paper napkin over brushed-on decoupage glue on upcycled home and gardening decor pieces. Decoupaged and painted surfaces are completely covered with a clear coat of water-based polyurethane to help protect and preserve all materials from the effects of moisture. Decoupaged items are generally recommended for indoor use. If used outside, the surfaces may need to be occasionally recoated with additional sealant for extended protection against outdoor elements.
