Handmade Salt and Pepper shakers made from a solid piece of wood. I used Black Walnut for pepper and Hard Maple for salt. I try to make each shaker exactly the same but since these are handmade there may be slight differences. The pictures show the shakers from all 4 sides, and the group picture (with several sets) shows that Walnut and Maple are pretty consistent in their color and grain. The pictures are a good representation of what you will receive. The shakers have a hole drilled through the body to hold the salt or pepper. The inside has then been sealed with Shellac which is food safe and odorless (did you know pills are coated with Shellac?). The chrome top has 5 holes and is epoxied in place. To refill the shaker put your finger over the holes in the top and turn the shaker upside down. Remove the rubber plug and fill, then press the plug back in place until it's seated all the way around. Don't worry, the plug is a tight fit and will not fall out. The tapered shakers are 3-3/4" tall x 1-3/4" diameter at the bottom and 1-1/2" at the top. These shakers can be used with ground pepper and table salt, and can also be used with refined sea salt (which is more coarse than table salt), or coarse pepper. If the shaker gets dirty, simply wipe clean with a damp cloth and hand dry. Do not wash in the sink.
