First the clay is centered on the pottery wheel and formed into a cylinder. Once trimmed, the handle was added. Next the vessel was fired in the kiln and glazed with a glazed called honey flux. The glaze is a honey-white color on most white clays, but with this chocolate brown clay, the chemical compositions of the glaze and the clay and heat of the kiln produce this gorgeous blue color. The mug is 3.5” in diameter and about 4.25” tall.
