Winter Trees 21 is a general-purpose bowl glazed in what is termed a peacock glazing method. Scallops of drippy glazes, called flux glazes, loop around the rim of the bowl in two rows. Dots of various shades of blue, green, and sienna are painted in the center of each scallop, and the entire bowl is covered in several layers of a complementary flux glaze. When fired, the flux glazes pull the more stable glazes down the sides of the bowl and pool up at the bottom. If a winter tree were to melt in, say, the tropics (use your imagination), it just might look like this, or so I would like to think. :) Winter Trees 21 would make a lovely addition to your winter table and home decor.
All of my functional pottery is dinnerware and food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe, and it conforms to standards set forth by the Art & Creative Materials Institute AP (Approved Product) in ASTM-D 4236. All glazes used are certified lead-free.
