Welcome to Cutting Edge Ceramics! We are a ceramics company that make an ancient gardening irrigation system called Ollas "oyas". These are slipcasted pieces of ceramic that are made from Terra Cotta Clay. They are low fired and glazed on the top only. All of our clay products are non toxic and sourced from the USA. We are located in Tucson, AZ (southwestern desert area) and we started making these approximately 12 years ago to help with water conservation. Ollas do not underwater or overwater your plants. In fact plants relish them and thrive with ollas. We have a variety of Ollas. We offer the Olla Ball Irrigation System that is an "automatic" watering system. These are buried directly in the ground, underneath your plant. All you need is a reservoir (we have kits for those too) and they are gravity fed. As long as your reservoir is filled with water your plants will drink on demand. The Olla Bottles, Spikes and Weepers are handfilled vessels. You top them off as needed. Usually once a week, once established in your container or ground. We have found that plants drink approximately 1/2 a cup to 1 cup of water per day VS traditional irrigation systems!
