Essentially Yours

Welcome to Essentially Yours! My name is Marissa and I make hand towel dresses, heartshaped potholders, and Goat's milk soap. Everything is absolutely handmade by myself. I start with cutting out the fabrics and batting, then putting it all together and sewing it. Even the bias tape for the potholders is handmade! With the soap I start with oils, milk and lye. I mix the milk and lye together, then mix that into the oils and blend until the soap reaches what we soapmakers call "trace". Then fragrance or essential oil and mica are mixed in. Finally I pour it into the mold and let it "saponify" for 24 hours. After that, I unmold the soap and cut it. Then it's cured until it's ready to use. I hope you enjoy browsing through my shop!
